You dont talk very smart

As someone who struggles with proper communication I always have a fear of not being taken seriously in proper or academic situations. Due to this I struggle with a lot or feelings of inadequacy, and imposter syndrome when I know I can explain topics just as well as someone who speaks so eloquently that it seems they eat a thesaurus for breakfast every morning. My formative years I was surrounded by the most intelligent people, whose boundless knowledge inspired me to pursue careers in which I can also share and teach others, but while they were geniuses in my eyes society tended to treat them as fools because they use words like "y'all" and dont speak right according to those academic types. Pattanayak understands this and recognizes that the more we try and put emphasis on a common way to speak we are really erasing and belittling those that may not have received a "proper" education purely because they do not fit the mold "In this sense, education, while well intentioned, serves to further the marginalization of certain identities and cultures that do not fit."
